It's kind of odd in a way. When Trump said he assumed some illegal immigrants are good people it proved he hated Mexicans. When he said that some of the people protesting the removal of Robert E Lee statues were fine people it proved he unequivocally supports nazism.

You will literally use mental gymnastics to literally defend anything your god says. It is quite shocking to normal people.

This is only odd if you don't understand the difference between mexicans and Nazis.

It is very frightening. His core supporters seem to defend anything he does. Nothing seems to phase them.
Were they like this before Trump? Would they have normally defended things like nazis or collusion with Russia?

I am not sure. I wonder. Would they have supported Hitler?

I don't see Trump as a Nazi or a Putin puppet. I see Trump as trying to denounce Nazism and genuinely being against it but doing it in an incredibly clumsy and hamfisted way. Not because he's secretly dogwhistling KKK support but because that's the way he does everything.
