Essentially, you download it and put things you don't want in the folder for it. You empty it out, and it puts it in the community dumpster where it's up for grabs by another person.
It's currently Mac only (because people hat buy Macs are total dumpster divers, amirite?), but there's shit available for ports.
What do you think of this? Virus trap? Interesting method of finding new content? Should I download it?

But that just means that data storage is not post scarcity. Data itself is post-scarcity - an .avi file can be theoretically replicated infinite times.

In the case of Dumpster Drive, the data is scarce (can only be downloaded once) and the is rivalry (people grabbing data they may find interesting before anyone else can).

Oh yes, of course in the case of Dumpster Drive, but this validates the point I made above (that this is forced scarcity). Data, as a whole, is no longer scarce.
