Topic: When a web retailer has free shipping but offers you different shipping speeds

Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago #65,445

Who is going to choose the longer shipping speed?? Is anyone out there thinking, "It's so inconvenient when my package gets here faster for no added money"?

This infuriates me.

Becoming infuriated over something which you have no influence is foolish.

Often the cheapest still arrives quickly.

It is because during heavy business periods the less expensive method will take longer.

If you can't think of a situation where someone might want to have their item shipped slower you aren't thinking hard enough.

Someone would almost definitely complain if they took away options because free shipping was available.

Most. After all if they use Fed X there is the choice for ground or air shipment and overnight arrive early or later in PM
All with different costs and the retailer cannot be expected to pay top dollar without recovery.

Fed X on the other hand might find it convenient to ship with faster speeds if the space is available.

Is "Fed X" another thing you're an expert on, Lynne?
