To answer your question: No it's not hard. It's pretty easy to understand what the periodic table of elements is describing and why it is arranged the way it is. You'll need a few basic concepts under your belt before you start. With a basic understanding of atomic structure and how electron shells govern interactions between atoms, the periodic table starts to make a lot of sense.
If committing to a full course of study isn't appealing, then there are probably a few educational YouTube channels that will at least help you see the big concepts. You can easily grasp it Cathy.
