I decided to set up the Mail app for Mac because I wanted some form of desktop notification about new messages. However, much to my dismay, it synced over 29K emails from the past 3-4 years.

Over halfway through, it stopped syncing due to bandwidth excesses and now won't do shit. It won't even sync to my phone.

How long will this lock-out of push notifications last?

It moves them out of your Inbox and into your mail archive.

It gives you the option to select your entire inbox instead of just the current page.

Google sets long timeouts on slow-moving services; the 90-day search blacklist is for bad SEO practices, for example.

Their email-related timeouts are less than 3 days, I am sure, and probably just one day.
