the problem of the simulation is that the simulation is not the original that it is modelled after, it is merely a simulation.
for instance, a robot could simulate the outward being of an animal, but inspection of the insides reveals that it is something else entirely, and only matches superficially
the question that must follow is, what does this simulation not have that the original does have
how are their insides different

A hypothetical robot could very well simulate the organs and working insides of an animal, although at that point the use of the term robot becomes fuzzy.

if you have simulated the organs, then look more closely. is the cellular structure simulated? is the molecular structure? at some point you must discover the substrate upon which the simulation is built. if the so-called simulation is identical to that which is being simulated, then what you have is more properly called a duplicate.
