when i took driver's ed there was a complete retard who couldn't keep from using both his feet to drive, right foot on the gas, left foot on the brake. he was told repeatedly to stop, and to use just the one foot to work both pedals. he refused, said his mom said it was fine, and then the instructor would make him exit the driver's seat after some amount of driving. this went on week after week until one day the jackass ran into one of the school buildings because he floored both pedals when he was trying to park. he thought he was braking, but then didn't slow down and floored both feet in a panic and drove partially into the gymnasium. he was removed from driver's ed because he was a total fuck up who insisted that what he was being taught didn't matter.
serious answer: james fields is probably the same kind of idiot, just look at those brake lights and squealing tires at the same time... and like i've said, i'm betting on this guy calling it an accident and i bet he legit panicked and did something stupid because he's an incompetent. also, it won't really be any better for him even if he says his intention was just to hurt or scare people, tbh. i think his lawyers will call it a horrible mistake and tell a story of an idiot behind the wheel of a car he couldn't control. that's kinda why i'm interested in hearing his statement, but it just seems kinda unusually quiet. if he claimed any responsibility there would've been a report out within the hour.

I read that happens quite a lot actually. Like people thinking the gas is the brake and it doesn't stop the car and the car keeps going faster so they keep stomping on it and end up dead.

trump says everything, dude. he'll call them fine people and disavow them in the same breath. he'll simultaneously claim to have never met people and that he's their best friend at the same time. all he really does is say whatever he thinks will play best to whatever audience happens to be listening to him. all we really know for sure is that when he goes off script he's a vile, petty, vindictive little man who can't stop talking about how great he is. and he literally called it murder. just watch the press conference. in this video it's at 5:45, "the driver of the car is a murderer. and what he did was a horrible, horrible, inexcusable thing." he is, quite literally, throwing that dude to the wolves to save his own skin. unless he knows something we don't and the dude confessed which may be the case. but, if not... then he threw that young man to the wolves - even though, with all the fact as trump likes to say - we may find out the guy just made a mistake.

it's, like, super off putting dude. i've never known anyone in my life that literally combines every single pet peeve and irritating bad habit in one person, but there he is. the physical embodiment of everything i find irritating in human beings, from his incessant narcissism to his utterly tasteless greed, he only tops himself with his own cruelty and lack of empathy for anyone that doesn't feed his ego.
i'm actually kinda hoping this is going to the supreme court as like some kind of really crazy slander case where the kid will never get a fair trail because the president slandered him as a murderer during a press conference to take the heat off of himself for all this really negative press he hates so much. he'll do anything to make himself look better, including trashing this dudes constitutional rights to a fair trial.
