hundreds of years ago, the Serbs lost some stupid war. very often, the losers adopt an attitude that spans generations, something I call loseritus. the resentment continues, the young learn their loser status from their elders, and the population is every-ready for rally by some leader willing to use them. in the 1990s, free from the containing force of the USSR, leaders in Serbia were able to do what they did, and war retuned to curse the land. their ultimate reward was to lose again.
