Your other mouse will work on a Mac, and probably be a lot better. I use my Logitech mouse when I have to use a Mac for newspaper things because the Mighty Mouses are all broken. I haven't played Civ 4 or 5 so I can't tell you what to do, but I'd suggest reading reviews and game descriptions to see if the game has changed enough that it's worth $50.

I just hate having spent money on a Magic Mouse just to not use it :c I like it, but I almost use the trackpad more. The mouse is mainly for laziness. :/

And they basically streamlined all the confusing or bad parts of Civ 4 to make the game better. It got great reviews across the board.

I actually find the multiplayer matches to be long and monotonously boring in the CIV series. I know some people like it, and it's fun, kinda like playing RISK is fun when you play it once, but I couldn't see doing it more than a few times before I got bored.

Starcraft 2 is actually a pretty good game in that most matches are over in 6-15 minutes and can be nice and breezy. And the single player campaign mode is okay. It's not fantastic by any means, it was entertaining and helps you learn the controls, but the meat of it is online multiplayer.

Unless you're buying Civ 5 for the solo campaign mode and not multiplayer, then ignore what i said and get Civ 5 because I bet the solo mode is better.

I've actually played Starcraft 2 before, but I had a lot of trouble getting into it. Maybe it was just my friend (who is a fucking pro) forcing me to play against him, but I didn't much enjoy it.

I suck at multiplayer games, so I'm mostly thinking about Civ 5 for singeplayer.

yeah, it is kinda hard to get into. It's surprisingly stressful. He should have done 2v2 with you and taught you some rushes. I do like Civ singleplayer, and I've heard good things about it V.

It was really stressful having to play against him when he would beat me in less than 5 minutes every time :c And he did do a 2v2 with me, but I was shit at it and he didn't do much teaching :L

I've spent many many hours playing Civ single player, so getting Civ 5 would continue that. My computer will run it, I just don't know how well :/

You said it yourself, that your computer is only a tiny bit under the recommended specs... and that was only in CPU clock speed, iirc.

I guess if you don't game much, you wouldn't be very aware of how this all works, but the recommended specs are for running the game PERFECTLY AT MAXIMUM SETTINGS. If your computer is better than the minimum specs, you can likely play the game just fine.

Your computer is in between the minimum and the recommended, but waaaay closer to the recommended, which means you shouldn't be worried at all. Keep that in mind when thinking about buying games in the future... being a tiny bit lower than the recommended specs doesn't mean you won't be able to play it.
