During an age where transgender rights are becoming a more public issue. I guess I should get used to seeing her name next to other civil rights leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X.

I would have thought one of the earlier transwomen would be remembered as the MLK of transgender. Like back in the day when coming out as trans didn't get you magazine covers and universal public praise.

I hope they would. Shit, I would be thrilled if kids in future school systems learned about Lili Elbe more than Caitlyn Jenner. Even though she was Intersex. I guess The Danish Girl already gives this person enough to be remembered.

Autogynephilia isn't an actual diagnosis anymore regardless of how much you and even /lgbt/ so wish we lived in the past instead of the present where science, even soft sciences, still researches and draw conclusions based upon changing evidence.

There have been plenty of trans since the late 1960s. Gore Vidal even wrote a book about such a character, and a few years later The World According to Garp too. What is new is the retardedness that for me started with news reports that there was a pregnant man, when it should have been a pregnant "man". It seemed like bullshit and now even infants are trans and it's gotten creepy like a weird movie.
