No, animation is a proper job. Bringing joy to the lives of children through the medium of cartoons is admirable and well-paying.

If you've ever watched cartoons intended for children before, you would know that they often include stuff for any adults who may be watching. References children are too young to get, adult jokes, etc.
Watching children's cartoons can be enjoyable for audiences other than the target demographic.
