Topic: 4 'scientific' claims which 'scientists' themselves can't answer.

Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago #63,756

1. If we evolved from monkeys, where are there still monkeys? Why haven't they all evolved too?

2. If the earth is spinning at 1000km an hour, why when I jump up do I not land miles away?

3. If humans have landed on the moon and planted a flag there, why does the flag have ripples as though it is waving about in the pictues? I thought the moon had "no atmosphere"?

4. If dinosaurs once lived on the earth, why are there no complete fossils? They always need to take bones from different places and then put them together like a jigsaw into the image they want to make.

And the sheeple believe all this shit without the slightest bit of analysis and critical thinking.

but those questions are all answerable and have been answered many times

@OP

> 1. If we evolved from monkeys, where are there still monkeys?
there are old world and new world monkeys. monkeys can be found in most parts of the world aside from most of Europe and North America
> Why haven't they all evolved too?
they have, but just not in the same way as humans. the "monkeys" that humans evolved from are all long extinct
> 2. If the earth is spinning at 1000km an hour, why when I jump up do I not land miles away?
idk sometimes I think about this on the train
> 3. If humans have landed on the moon and planted a flag there, why does the flag have ripples as though it is waving about in the pictues? I thought the moon had "no atmosphere"?
imagine you unfurl a flag and there is minimal gravity and no outside force acting on the flag. it will look like it's just been unfurled ie rippling for quite a while
> 4. If dinosaurs once lived on the earth, why are there no complete fossils? They always need to take bones from different places and then put them together like a jigsaw into the image they want to make.
there are some very complete fossils IDK why you would think there aren't complete and near complete dino fossils in the record

why do slow neutrons make uranium atoms split, but fast ones do not?

no one knows

We're all on the moving Earth, and we're travelling at the same speed as Earth. So when we jump up, we keep travelling around at the same speed we were moving at before because there's no force to stop us. Now, if a huge force was applied to the solid Earth (like a big impact) and caused it to stop spinning in a single instant, we'd be in trouble because the Earth would have stopped moving, but since no force was applied to us, we'd still be travelling at the same speed we were going before the impact (really fast). I guess if all the people were glued to the Earth, then the force of the impact would translate to us as well and we would slow down, but in reality we're free to fly forward.

In other words, you have no idea how to answer any of the questions so you'll just settle into smug self-satisfaction. Lol go believe you're a monkey, idiot.

The Qur'an supports a flat Earth model. OP probably follows that book, instead of books based on scientific knowledge.

Science is no match for the bronze age sky ghost! The Earth is flat, 4000 years old, and the dinosaurs were put in the ground by god to test our faith

sounds legit...but like what about the people who jumped out of one of the world trade center buildings...thats a lot of time in the air..

shouldnt a body in the air that long land somewhere othere than directly below where they jumped..

think of jumping about three feet in the air as your standing in back of a pick up truck going a hundred miles an hour..

....inertia and air resistance you fucking retard. if you're in the back of a pickup truck and jump 3 feet into the air you'll be jumping into the air and get pushed back. If you were on board a moving train and did the same thing inside the cabin then you'd land where you were standing when you jumped. don't confuse air resistance with whatever it is you're confusing it with. and inertia keeps you from falling long distances at diagonals, not to mention that gravity pulls straight down, so... there IS no horizontal force on a rotating sphere when gravity overcomes centrifugal forces.

this is all pretty basic high school physics 101

Take a biology and/or anthropology course.

Or you could just take your Domestos. You have options here.

Can you prove this?

@previous (A)
To be accurate you need to know the latitude. At different latitudes, the centripetal acceleration of the ground underneath you is different, which means the apparent strength of gravity is different.
With that in mind - The patch of ground under the object maintains a (roughly) circular path around the planet's axis, which requires that the net force on it points radially inward. Thus, the acceleration due to gravity appears to be reduced. Note that this is not a subtraction of forces, since there is only one force acting on the falling object. It is merely a statement that the ground is a moving target that is running away from the object as it approaches.
