Number of state governorships/state legislatures is a misleading metric because Democrats aren't evenly distributed. California, for example has more people than like half the red states put together.

When valid criticism of Trump comes about, Trump supporters have a habit of switching to partisan attacks on the Democrats. Almost like they're trying to distract from the failures of their leader by focusing attacks on some other party.
