For sure they are not - Rare I get anything at MC-D's - For sure it will be cleaner safer to eat then most of what they eat in China.
This weekend NPR had a feature on Hong Kong and it's unique way of trying to protect self from the massive food fraud conducted on the mainland.

Never lived there Wood NOT live there as my IQ is high nuff to not live in such a horrid place. Have only been there on business - Full Globalstar system
Now Hong Kong I have been there on my own money as well as business -
True there is one MC user who lived there for a number of years. Was fun to follow an Expat blog where he argued about the quality of food but was put down by the rest of Expats as food inedible and had to be covered up with mass of Chile whatever to cover up the stank and rancid food.
This MC user even described the city as smelling of Piss n Excrement - Apparently Chinese are encouraged to discharge anyplace they decide2
Oh and all the posts by Expats about the only safe place to eat and even then there were issues at MC D's in China which are super popular with over 2000 and business news says MC D's is adding 1000 more
