Topic: If the country is called "The Filipenes" why are it's people called "Phillipinos"?

It doesn't make any sense! Especially because "ph" and "f" make the same sound in English.

Is it because they speak Tagalong? Maybe the ph/f thing makes sense in Tagalong?

Originally comes from Spanish - Islas Filipinas, named after Philip II. In Spanish, the English name Philip is spelled Felipe.
