Topic: The US census

sexul aerosol !!mtq555+/1 started this discussion 15 years ago #6,320

1990 248,709,873
2000 281,421,906
2010 308,745,538

It went up by ~33mil from 1990-2000, and up by ~29mil from 2000-2010. I expected a larger growth in the last ten years :o

No, there were 308,745,538 agreeing last year that you are a fag. That's a consensus.

Honestly I'll be relieved when the US loses its stance as the world's leading economic power (most likely seceded by China). I don't like our every action being scrutinized by foreign countries

Good god, what is your first language?

It's succeeded. And China already has succeeded us. They are first in terms of GDP. EU is second, and US is third.

This. The European Union has treaties that make it one seamless economy, with the free exchange of goods.

> It's a trade bloc, and is only the second-largest trade bloc. The first is the Canada-US-Mexico trade bloc.
NAFTA cannot be considered a single economy.

A mexican cannot walk into the US, and get a job. A US business person cannot simply open a new store in mexico or Canada, there is a lot of work to be done.

If you are in an EU country you can cross the boarder into any other member state with little or no trouble, and find a job without being a citizen or getting special permission. You can operate a business over national borders without much work at all.

The EU is just a federation-in-denial.

For citizens in member states it is not much different than working across state lines in the US.

NAFTA is hardly a single economy in the same sense the EU is. By your logic the WTO is first and last in economic size.

Yes, they can. And they can buy property, too.

Lol. In case you aren't up to date, we have a fence in the US to keep Mexicans out. That's an open border?

You're all missing the big picture: GDP is just a number and it's determined just as much by population as it is the economy. A very small country with a very productive economy with lots of wealth could easily have a lower GDP than a country with an economy that's complete shit but with 10x the population. What we really need to look at is the per capita.
