This extension will notify you in your browser when you've been cited, a topic on your watchlist gets a reply, or you get a PM. Yaaay. It'll probably include more things later on, but that's later.
For now it'll place (an ugly stretched out) minnie in your 'browser action' bar, and it will show a number on the bottom right for the amount of citations you've got waiting for you. The number will only display when it's above zero, and if it is you can click the icon to open http://minichan.org/notifications
Chrome variant: http://minichan.org/chrome-extension/minichan-latest.crx. (Official)
Safari variant: http://minichan.org/chrome-extension/MinichanNotifier.safariextz. (Unofficial, by stal)
Firefox variant: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/minichannotifier/. (Unofficial, by anon)
Use the unofficial variants at your own risk (And the official one too, actually). You can check the source of all three by opening the files with 7zip.
Cheers, I don't know why but PNG's always looked fucked up on MC. It probably has to do with the way the thumbs are generated.
By the way, nice extension.

- Adds ability to "ignore" types of notifications (for example, you can make it not include PMs in the count)
- Secret checkbox
- New icons to fit in better with Safari
You should uninstall the current extension before updating.

I like the new behavior, but here's a suggestion to make it even better, perhaps have this be the default when settings are implemented:
If no Minichan tab is currently open, open minichan in a new tab when the button is pressed. If there is a minichan tab open, open the page in that tab. In case of multiple open MC tabs, it should use the one opened most recently.
That's assuming that all of that is possible with the API.

I like this idea. I always have a MC tab open, so the old way opened a new one which was a bit annoying but okay. Now though, I lose the tab I'm on unless I open a new tab first. Opening in the open MC tab would be nice.

Yeah, thought about that. Need to figure out if it's possible to search tabs in the current window and then redirect one and make it active. It probably is, but didn't feel like figuring that out right now. :P
Though, I think it should only do so if it's an index page or maybe reading a topic (While not composing). Definitely not when composing a new topic/reply. That could get annoying.

I see that as being hard to make work, and sort of an un-needed check. Who is going to click the button while in the middle of composing a reply? Still, it would be kinda neat if you can make it happen.
Maybe add an option to open in a new tab to the right-click drop-down menu?

MinichanNotifier has been updated!
0.1.10
Added in the "tabs" permission, you will get a warning about that. It is required to open stuff in the same tab instead of a new one (e.g. omnibar and pressing the icon). Check source if you're concerned about your security.
Added OmniBar.
Type "mc" in the URL bar to get started
Should show the last 5 bumps by default
Typing anything then pressing enter should search for that term
Typing "mc bumps" should open the bumps page
Typing "mc topics" should open the topics page
Typing "mc new" should open the New Topic page
Typing "mc (anything else)" should perform a deep search for that term
Selecting one of the latest 5 suggested topics should open that topic
EDIT: Did this open in a new tab for anyone else?
