Put everything you want to keep on google drive because it will wipe everything.
Your settings should be restored when you log in though.

I assume that includes extensions and bookmarks too?
Because my Chromebook doesn't have internal storage aside from Google Drive and a microSD card I bought for it.
Will it wipe the microSD card?

If you're worried, remove the sd card.

Just tried to put my Chromebook into developer mode and I got a message saying that Chrome OS is missing or damage and to insert a recovery drive. How the fuck is it missing when it was pre-installed?!

Chromebooks aren't meant to be messed with. Unless you really REALLY REALLY know what you're doing you should leave them on Chrome OS.

This tutorial doesn't show that message and I take it as you don't have a solution?

@787,451 (キャサリン? !TGirlYJKXM)
No I don't have a solution for you. Sorry!
But yeah the reason I say that is because I bought my mom a Chromebook two years ago and out of curiousity I wondered how hard it would be to install Ubuntu on it (ChromeOS actually is Linux) and when I looked it up I was like "lolno" and just left it alone.
