I'm reading it now. It's complete bullshit, of course, but I read a lot of fiction any way. Many fictional books influenced culture, and society, and the Bible happens to be the single greatest influencer. I'm only 1/5th of the way through it, but I'm seeing a lot of familiar terms.
Also, it's fun to quote it to Christians (who most likely haven't read it themselves). Often times they don't believe the quote is actually in the Bible.

I tried to read it cover to cover, not even for religious/spiritual reasons, just to have read it. It is 99% complete shit. Most of the stories are boring as hell, or go nowhere, or make no sense, or teach lessons that no longer apply to modern life. There are a few really good stories lessons in it, if you know where to look, but that's why we have priests and scholars to find, interpret, and teach the best parts. You know what they say, a broken clock is still right twice a day. So yeah, there's some wisdom in it, but as a book overall, un-fucking-enjoyable.

Mostly. The KJV Job, Song of Songs, and Ecclesiastes are easily among the best things I've read. (I don't care about "lessons", just aesthetics.)

I do not believe everything in the bible is good. The Bible recounts many examples of rape and murder.
