also, anyone else noticing the trump supporters in their lives starting to finally be critical of trump? he's losing support. the other day i was at my folks and i overheard my dad bitching about, "why the hell are they even doing net neutrality," since it wasn't one of his campaign promises. i'm going to call him tonight and ask if he's seen the cuts to medicaid in the new budget. after they tried to kill ethics and obamacare i told my dad the next thing would be gutting net neutrality, then medicaid, then medicare, and then social security. he didn't believe me, said they'd fix obamacare and then fix taxes. i'm betting he's super pissed to see the extent of the social cuts (1 fucking trillion dollars man) and to also see that i was right, that medicaid was after net neutrality.
next will be medicare, then social security. i tried telling them this is the actual conservative agenda, the gutting of everything that keeps people healthy, wealthy and free. i think he's starting to believe the conservatives of today aren't the same reagan conservatives he loved in the 80s/90s. not my mom though, she still loves nixon, actually. if she ever becomes critical of trump i can't even imagine how badly he'll have had to fuck up.

What we have today is just logical entension of the kind of thinking from the party at the time of Reagan, with the "trickle-down" nonsense about how giving the weathly great breaks would somehow make everyone better off. Reagan himself was influenced by the father of his wife, some asshole doctor. He made an album in 1961 where it's just him talking about evil socialized medicine.
