Topic: URGENT cooking question for Matt!!

cccuuunnttt !yDoooooooo started this discussion 9 years ago #62,309

I want to make a pasta sauce that takes forever to reduce. I want to start it today and then put it back on the stove tomorrow to finish reducing it. So like do all the chopping, sauteing, boil it, reduce it a bit today, put it in the fridge, and then finish reducing it tomorrow. Will that work or will it have a bad effect on the outcome??

If it doesnt need to be pasta sauce (even tho it goes nice with the flat wide noodles but whatever) you could do some wild animal goulash, that stuff always tastes better a day after being cooked and the boiled and reduced a bit more the next day.

My suggestion would be deer or wild boar goulash. Absolutely delicious the day after.

Add a few pints of water to it, it will take a very long time to reduce.

It will work just fine, as long as it does not burn. It if gets too low, add water and keep reducing.

I'm in good mood. But my honest suggestion is, just cook a good old bag'o'dicks and choke on it. :)

Nice. What else is in it? Is it Tomato-Based™ (pronounced as one word)?

Is it for your Mexican gardener or something?

Yes, tomatoes and Italian parsley. Have never been a big fan of parsley but when chopped and cooked in something, it can add an interesting flavor.

Your mom hates you and doesn't want to be reminded of your existence.
