I am trying to honestly figure out how you would think that McDonald's food is spicy. I have a theory. Is it possible that the food that you usually cook and eat at home is SO incredibly bland, like with literally no salt, pepper, or seasonings of any sort, that to you, even a flavor like "sour" or "herbal" comes across as "spicy"? Do you know what "spicy" means?

No. When you pickle spicy peppers, it chemically acts to take away the "spiciness". And, even if you could argue that pickled jalapenos were somehow "spicy", Becky is talking about a sandwich and a salad dressing without jalapenos in it.

Anyway, as I've explained before, it's a context and expectations thing. I don't like or expect a salad to be spicy, so I have low spiciness tolerance for salads/salad dressing. And the BBQ bacon sandwich from McDonalds is legitimately a lot spicier than one would expect from a McDonalds BBQ sauce, given how sweet and mild the normal McDonalds BBQ sauce (like for Chicken McNuggets is). I don't have particularly high tolerance for spiciness - probably average or slightly under - but I do like onions, and garlic, and a bit of heat sometimes. I order some things extra spicy. I just don't expect heat from a fucking salad or a McDonalds sandwich, so it is noticeable there. Thanks.
