This stoner dude gets held hostage for over a month in a convenience store and the entire thing was filmed, the group who held the people hostage demanded the tapes be played on TV. So they threaten to kill the hostages and eventually the guy decides he doesn't give a fuck and repeatedly says "So Fucking What?" to the camera and he eventually escapes in a gun battle and manages to save one other girl, these two are the only survivors. When the tapes air on television after the networks give into the demand he becomes famous for his attitude in the face of death. The girl goes on multiple tv shows to talk about the experience but they just keep asking about the guy. His saying, So Fucking What, is turned into a media catchphrase as "S.F.W." The movie is about how he handles the real world after being held hostage and becoming a media celebrity.
