They're all, oh I can't write with this, oh it feels so hard, where's a gel writer? And then with a gel writer, they don't even write like an adult, but print letters so poorly it makes Comic Sans look like illuminated 15th century Bibles.

Yeah, gel pens let out way too much ink. They smudge too easily. If you find yourself writing on thin paper (some forms, newsprint, etc.) then they bleed all over. You shouldn't have to sit and wait for what you just wrote to dry like some 14th century scribe. We live in the future now.
