I used to order meals on wheels because I was too lazy to cook and they were reasonably priced. The ladies delivering them used to give me a fair bit of grief for being their youngest customer by about 40 years.

Churches and private charities are supposed to handle that. Most of the money the government robs for welfare ends up in the pockets of government officials whereas about 80-90% of the money given to private charities help the poor.
