Also: "Get a brew on, I'm parched". As if fucking tea will quench a thirst.

Sometimes I use what I call "context words". I have memory problems and sometimes I forget words whilst I'm about to say them, so I make up nonsense words and let the context assign them meaning. For example, today I turned around and asked someone if I could "scrab" a cigarette and they didn't even bat an eyelid. The day before, I said to get kettle on because I could proper cup a mug.

I pronounce it the authentic British way: "Oi'm just popping down the loo, innit mate? Can you lend me tuppence for the pay toilet, guv'nor?"
