Topic: Geddy Lee will NOT be performing with Yes at their induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago#60,656
There was a false rumor being put out that Lee would perform with Yes in place of the recently deceased Chris Squire. Rush is working on getting Billboard to retract the story:
Pity, to be honest. If you jam along with a bass with those classic 70's Yes and Rush records it's pretty obvious that Geddy was in a bit of a competition with himself to try and take Chris's style a bit further. I would have liked to hear this.
> Millennials won't know their very obscure song Around About but it is, as those teenyboppers are saying, quite rad and coolio.
That is actually the song (Roudabout, natch) which he was supposedly going to play with them. Would've loved hearing Lee's take on that iconic bassline.

Or Les Claypool, he'd be an interesting choice to 'replace' Squire.

Metallica proved in ...And justice for all that bass is obsolete. Yes are just antiquated old dadrockers who can't get with the times.

I once went t a Rush show in Knoxville in the late nineties..
After we had waited for a couple of hours they made an announcement that the opening act was ill...And that Rush would do an extra long set..
It was like being in Paradise for about four hours..

What's with dadrockers and whining? I've noticed this in a lot of your posts.

I saw them on the Vapor Trails tour in 2002 (not my favorite album of theirs but it was the only time they played in Iowa) at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames. Great, great show, they opened with Tom Sawyer.
