Honestly I think he might have a case of Attention Deficit Disorder which has been lingering for a few decades since his formative years. Becky put it best when she described him as having some kind of frontotemporal deficiency (I paraphrase here). Typically, so do ADD sufferers. It would explain a lot about his demeanour outwith a mere failure to attend to projects with persistence.
