Topic: Who will Brexit Britain have a major trade relationship with?

Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago #60,057

Well we import a lot from the EU and somebody is going to have to replace it

President Trump has promised a good deal for the UK after Brexit but we all know that he views what he says as an "opening bid" in a negotiation so it's not something that can exactly be relied on. Especially when he would have the upper hand in negotiation.

President Jinping of China has been pushing for good relations with the UK, most memorably a couple of years ago with the power plant deals. They could be in a good position to jump in there.

Or maybe there will be some puppeteering with President Putin, who really likes to push propaganda and might see an opportunity to increase Russian influence.

Or perhaps the Commonwealth will step up, but I dont see that happening tbh.

What do the Commonwealth actually have which is worth exporting to ourselves? The nations comprising it are primarily negroid who are useless in the productive sense. The Gambia is set to become its latest member when it rejoins under the newly usurping leader Barrow's rule. Perhaps Britain should stick to trade partnerships with countries that have similar ethnic compositions and, resultantly, macroeconomic ones to itself.

Canada, Australia and New Zealand could export quite a lot to us. Also Zimbabwe if they ever get their shit back together.

Zimbabwe's only direction is up ever since Mugabe destroyed 94% of the country's economy in a fit of spite over not being given preferential conditions for aid, itself conditional on him fairly participating in the democratic process (he didn't from 2000 onwards and so what else did he expect?), with Mugabe no longer having exclusive control over the government and most especially, macroeconomic policy (disbandoning the currency means he no longer has the convenience of indiscriminately QEing it to a hyperinflatory death).
Still, even at current growtj rates, it would take decades for it to reach pre-1998 levels.

The land is fertile and rich. With the right leader and plan, Zimbabwe could be the breadbasket of Africa in less than 5 years. Sadly Zanu PF have no interest in the people of Zimbabwe so nothing will happen until Mugabe is dead.

when Mugabe dies his wife will take over and have Mugabe's corpse embalmed and attached to strings so that he can continue to be her big powerful puppet
