Topic: If numbers are infinite, then how is it possible to travel from one place to another?

Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago #60,031

There will surely come a time when you are halfway from your destination, then 1/4 away, then 1/8, then 1/16, then 1/32, then 1/64, and so on. And since numbers are infinite, it will always be possible to divide the distance yet further, so that you will always be an infinite spiral of division away from your final destination.

How to solve this paradox?

Because the universe is made of atoms and atoms are finite.

An alternative solution is that nobody ever truly reaches their intended destination. It eludes our grasp.

I have it on good authority that it is possible to travel from any one point to any other in only 15 minutes.
