It's a dumpling, not a potato. It's like saying "coffee is water" because it's 99% water. That extra 1% makes all the difference.
I mean to put it in perspective wine has more in common with tap water than gnocchi does with potato.

Gnocchi is not literally "only potatoes", but it is certainly not pasta. The equivalent, according to your analogy, would be that coffee, while not "only water", is not beans.

The beans is what makes it coffee. Water is just the canvas on which coffee is painted. It's like going to the museum and saying "It's not Rembrandt, it's canvas". You'd sound like a total dumbshit hillbilly to anyone who actually knew about art.

Yes, and the potatoes are what make it gnocchi. Thanks.

Look I know you grew up in the bayou eating squirrels but water is to coffee as potato is to gnocchi. Thanks.

LOL no. You are so wrong. You probably think that a dolphin is a mammal, in a culinary sense!

Actually I could, since I speak Chinese and Japanese. You, however, only speak English.

I'll be perfectly happy to tell them in English.

Yes, well, in any case, gnocchi is potatoes, and dolphin is fish, in a purely culinary sense.
