Imagine living in the boring and harsh past, and then on top of it all you work where you are outnumbered by insane people. Of course you wouldn't stay sane.

i talked four days straight with a women who had true "melancholia" in a closed department in the mental health facility. I tried everything. Then i moved to the open department, and i founded a group of champions, we all were the same hat.

Blactually this is a very common myth that has been passed around many a times before.
At that time(past) it could be argued its the most humane treatment known to man. Imagine a shizo being admitted with severe delusion about some shit his family wanna kill him etc. So they lobotomized that nigher. Not out of hate etc, but rather compassion. How would you feel if you see your family member severely depressed catatonic and thinking some weird shit everday? Even electroconvulsive theraphy is not as movies put it. Theyd actually sedate the motherfucker before, and that nigger wouldnt feel a thing.
That being said, id imagine 40-50 years from now, pschyayrist would actually look back and say how inhumane they have been. SSRI flouxetine as such lithium etc2 have gazillion of side effect. But the dogma of treatment among medical personnel is that if it does more good than bad, and no other viable alternative, even though the nigger might kill himself, we'd just give the treatment. Hell even WHO regimen for tuberculosis DOTS have been implicated with severe cirhossis and liver failure and shit like that. 5 year treatment, your liver is fucked beyond recognition, then palliative treatment so the motherfucker can live his 3months of life without pain. Most people would think TB? A diesease known for millions of years would have better standard of treatment by the 21st century. But.. you knows hows it is. Nigger gots to make a living.
