Yet another cause of man-made climate change. Polluting the light is a leading cause of global warming. Imposing a light tax on consumers so they can be light neutral, instead of closing lightbulb factories will help though.

You have to consider the context. Let's say that you really like rocks and hate it when living things get on them. If that is your way of seeing things, then life is the pollution that interferes with the nature of the rocks.

that and they're talking about artificial light sources. like the sun and moon don't add to light pollution becuase their light is a natural process. artificial light sources also kick a lot of light away from their intended spots, so they don't just illuminate what is intended, but also what is unintended. that unintended artificial light that ends up obscuring natural sources (ie stars) is what they call light pollution.
it's literally unused and unintended lighting that requires energy to output and is wasted. that is pollution. it's just not physically harmful.
