Conservatives routinely attack Obama to this day for not bombing enough in Syria. Compared to the average Republican he's a hippie pacifist. Clinton did not want to war with Russia, but she definitely would not have gotten along with them. Then again Trump gets along with them and they've just started up the war in Ukraine again so it's not like playing nice is particularly stabilizing anyway.
