Topic: I'm taking a break from libtard bashing today. Is anyone here from the American South?

Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago #59,445

Louisiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, and so on? For me the American South is the true USA, the spirit of the country, the quintessence of that remarkable country which is being eroded away by the insidious American left. There's a courtesy there which you don't find in the 'blue' states, a kind of courtliness of manners and an old-fashioned decorum, stoicism, national pride, and common decency.

I also like their anti-authoritarian principles, their distrust of government (as opposed to the liberals, who think government must be as big as possible and should be involved in every single part of a person's life), their fiscal conservative values, and their defence of what might be called 'traditional values'.

I get the impression Fake Anon is from the South. Although he and I disagree from time to time, there is a propriety to his manners, a kind of graceful and honest decency which I associate with Texas. Kook is nice, but she's not a Southerner, this I can sense. Matt is. He is a deviant but he too has an easy and gallant grace about him.

Are there any other Southerners here?

That makes sense too. Jews also have a dignified reverence for tradition and manners.

A surprise, that. I can see now why he's so worked up all the time, it must be hard for him living in Texas and having the beliefs and ideals he does.

> and Kook is from Florida.

Not really a surprise for me. While technically 'the South', Florida is its own weird thing, a mixture of rich whiny retired liberals and angry old conservatives.

It's cute he confused self deprecating Jewish humor for southern modesty. Want me to teach you how to drawl?

My boss is Texan and once sent me an email that said "Yee-haahhhhh" so I feel like that was enough exposure to any culture South of the Mason-Dixon. Thanks for the offer though.
@previous (B)
That's a six figure degree. No way I'm risking it on this guy.

That Southern courtesy extends only to white people, just so you know.
