Didn't you know op? It's okay to attack Christianity because not even the Soviet Union could destroy it.

i do enjoy early persecution of christianity.
because it did the fucking opposite of what it was meant to.
early christians fucking got off on being martyrs. it was a big deal. christians loooooved martyrs. the romans were absolutely baffled and didn't really know what to do. i mean in the end they just rolled with it and kept killing but uh.
in fact there was kind of an existential crisis after christianity became the religion of the roman state and was no longer persecuted - because now how will you please a god who demands such thorough transformative devotion?

yeah but it's different. now it's more like "look how persecuted we, this incredibly large and diverse group (the most vocal component of which are white americans) are"
early christianity was legit creepily into death and dead things. according to the martyrdom of polycarp they waited for his burnt-up bones to be left alone long enought that they could grab them
and just the whole thing about saving and worshipping saints' relics (often, although not always, bits of corpse).
at this time in the mediterranean, corpses were seen as "dirty"/unholy and would be buried outside the city walls. it was weird and subversive for christians to bring bits of dead body inside the city and especially inside their churches.

No. This isn't a liberal arts college, Snowflake. You can't always be sheltered from opinions you don't like.
