alright, i got me a flute. got an altus model 1707. so i guess i just blow in this end with the hole in it and figure out what all the buttons do. it's got like a bunch...
interestingly though the bottom ones don't really do much. they all sound like shit. it sounds great when i don't hit any buttons though. i think that's a "C"

fuck i passed out for a little bit. these things take a lot of breath, fuck. cranked out a pretty soulful rendition of three blind mice though. starting to work on the arrangement i'll be performing, partita in a minor by bach. i'll be reading a copy of the original sheet music penned by the master himself.

nailed my audition. i'll hear back within a week. super stoked. never got that bach piece transcribed so i just winged it with my variation on three blind mice. they called it wonderful and refreshing. everyone else literally played a bach flute solo... so.

hmm. got a message earlier from the Dallas Symphony, a courier came by and i got served a restraining order by some attorney... i was "threatening and confrontational" apparently. but no one is pressing charges. not that they'd have cause to...
so i called and asked about the part and i got hung up on. but i'm not giving up on my dream of being a professional floutist. but i'm going to be a professional clarinoutist instead. try outs are tomorrow, so i need to find a quick clarinet fast.
...and a wig. good thing squeegette's didn't clean out her closet before becoming one with the universe.
