Ever since I was a kid, when I see the moon is partially obscured by mysterious clouds like it is now, I always half expect something really awesome like a nice dragon to come down from the sky and take me away to a magical land where everything is awesome.
But sad to say, it's always just going to be the moon and some clouds:
A big rock reflecting light from the sun, and some moisture suspended in the sky. :(

Wayyyyy back as a Kiddlet, as a Nerd Ham radio kid, I set up a system to bounce radio signals off the moon. Worked maybe 1/20 times I tried and the harder I worked at it the poorer were the results. Years later I understood Y. So after I read your post I hit my balcony over looking my Ocean Blue, and its patch cloudy here in Cardiff by the Sea San Diego, and the Moon is punching through, with clouds moving on by. Very Very Purrrrrty

Now with Multiple Ground station "Stable" antennas - 6 Meter dishes with 10,000,000 watts of power on C band ---I can hit that Moon for a bounce from France Korea Botswana Australia Texas and Argentina all at the same instant and just b4 I go to bed I R going to do just that. Kiddlet grown up, yet still have lots of kid left in Thee.

Syntax once used packet radio signals bounced off the moon to convince Leonid Brezhnev not to nuke Los Angeles in 1981. That was back when he had top secret clearance and dined with KGB agents every night in order to intercept them trying to smuggle satellite parts back to the USSR. The moon was fucking beautiful last night.
And the sky's so clear, out of the city...It was even better, because the three officers were setting off fireworks they had in their hands. Tons of them.
