Topic: "$53 for 4 pizzas?!?!?" she asked me

But four pies with multiple or deluxe toppings and some garlic knots easily run about that in the burbs.

i paid 30 bucks for a medium pizza and cinnamon twists from papa johns. i didn't realize there was a 3 dollar internet order fee, which is fucking stupid, i'll never do that again, but even without that it was still a medium pizza with cinnamon twists for like 27 bucks. i'm not sure why i went ahead and hit payment except i was really hungry. there's plenty of better and cheaper local places too...

A large pizza in nyc is like 18 or 20 bucks. I don't think that $53 for 4 is unreasonable.

That is actually a reasonable price. Trust me: I am a witch doctor.

Outside of the megalopolis we eat pizza shaped objects. Not an apples to apples comparison.

I'm deeply sorry for your inferior pizza eating experience. At least you aren't like people from Chicago who eat gross fake Chicago "pizza" and think it's a real pie.

It's ok dominos offers a Brooklyn style pizza for Walter & friends and Seattle has a surprising number of solid Italian eateries (il corvo, salumi)

Bagels aren't Jewish you uncultured swine. The best bagels are made by Puerto Ricans.

Gnocchi is the dadrock of pasta.

It's not pasta. It's potatoes

We can compromise and call it half pasta, half potato.

Look, I was trying to split the difference, but the fact is "gnocchi" is etymologically "not potato". It combines the root for "no" which is "Gino" in Italian, shortened when Italian came to america as "Gno" and the word for potato which is "cchi", which is borrowed from Japanese since that's where they first bought their potatoes from. Normally I charge for this information but since I'm in such a good mood I'm letting you have it for free. Don't make me use my book learning to smack down your shitty argument again. Thanks.

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Potato, is in fact, Gnocchi/Potato, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Gnocchi plus Potato. Potato is not an entree system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Gnocchi system made useful by the Gnocchi cheese corelibs, semolina utilities and vital egg components comprising a full entree as defined by USDA.

Many people eat a modified version of the Gnocchi system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of Gnocchi which is widely used today is often called Potato, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the Gnocchi system, developed by the Gnocchi project.

There really is a Potato, and these people are eating it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Potato is the kernel: the ingredient in the dumpling that allocates the flavors to the other ingredients that you eat. The kernel is an essential part of a recipe, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete meal. Potato is normally used in combination with the Gnocchi ingredients: the whole system is basically Gnocchi with Potatoes added, or Gnocchi/Potato. All the so-called Potato distributions are really distributions of Gnocchi/Potato!
