It was this one black lady that realized that blacks in the south had culturally appropriated their redneck neighbors and taken on their attributes of racism, ignorance, violence, low education, crime and drug abuse and called out those blacks for acting like a bunch of n words

I thought it was a commonly used term during the 18th and 19th century up and didn't become a derogatory term until the mid 20th century. I think it was used both by whites and blacks, but probably more by whites at that period. I think because of it's association and use during the time of slavery, then it became a derogatory term in the 20th century.

Yeah it's not cool to call them "niggers" or "the n word" now. Because the n word just makes you think niggers without saying it. Blacks are called "urban" people by whites these days.
