"Are you set? Let me put on your seat belt!" offered a small Japanese-american in a caring and calm tone, her name is Sarah. She was trying to be nice to Pete after having him move to the back seat in the car, because "it's just too dangerous in that seat".
It's been two months since Sarah and Pete Junior arrived at a mansion in a little known rural area. They are getting ready to leave together but Sarah is making sure everything is in order before the long drive. "did you remember your glasses?" - Sarah asked, interrupting Pete's slow decendance into sleep. GLASSES!? What glasses? Asked Pete silently to himself because as far as he remembered he has never worn glasses in all his 11 years.
G-glasses? He replied politely. The reaction amused Sarah and she smiled warmly as she looked at his confused face through the rear view mirror- "Yes the glasses, the glasses i gave you for Christmas". Pete now knew what she meant and nodded- "yes I packed it earlier like you told me". Sarah nodded in favor and turned on the car, but she wanted to tease Pete a little. "Good boy" - she added, changing her warm smile into a slight grin, knowing that Pete hates being called that. Pete didn't care this time though, he was so tired from the night before and it was early in the morning. He just wanted to fall asleep, anything was less important to him. Despite all that had happened he just wanted sleep.
