I was standing in line at Kmart and the customer in front of me had a cart full of Bud Light™ and college football merchandise. When the register asked to donate just one lowly dollar, he said no. One dollar was too much for him to give.

it's true rich people are the worst about giving little bits and they also will always ask for a discount

How am I supposed to stay insanely wealthy if I give money away?!?!?!

Most charity comes from the wealthy but you wouldn't know this as you two are inbred hicks.

What charity would this be? The Trump Foundation™, right?

Most money is owned by rich people. As a % of income people who make less than 100k donate more than people who make more than 100k.

But we're not talking about percentage of income.

Who's "we"? You're not, but I am. And I will remind you of another jew who once upon a time opined on this issue.

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

So the most wealthy provide the bulk of charity cash. As I expected.

The trick is to complement them in some way and ask them to donate after you tell them the price of their groceries.

Maybe people just need to stop being so needy.

I hate being asked to give a dollar. They're lucky to get a "fuck off" instead but I am too cheap for that too

Anonymous H joined in and replied with this 9 years ago, 6 minutes later, 7 hours after the original post[^] [v] #750,751

I always say no to people asking at the register. I'm hesitant to give to random charities I know nothing about. I have no idea how that money is managed or where it goes. I'll gladly give some money to the homeless guy outside instead.

You would, in fact, rather fund someone's drug habit than help cure childhood cancer.

I doubt rich people shop at K-Mart.
Exception might be some tv star that is being paid big chunks of money to shill for K-Mart

I have been to a K-Mart but not yet to a Walmart albeit I told Chan I wood - I work less than 5 minutes from one of them

You're falling victim to baseless assumptions and stereotyping there.

There are plenty of "charities" that don't give as much as they claim. There are plenty of homeless people who actually want to buy some food, clothing, or toiletries.

I wood have to locate a near by K-Mart - I no where a Walmart is n Target - did go to a Target the other day cause I found the exact plant food I was looking for and they on line said come pick it up
Got there and someone else saw it in bin and bought it n no more for me

Fuck Target

White Person !m2cp3rR5zw (OP) replied with this 9 years ago, 7 minutes later, 11 hours after the original post[^] [v] #750,796

That sucks. Did you not place an order online for instore pickup?

Syntax replied with this 9 years ago, 6 minutes later, 11 hours after the original post[^] [v] #750,797

@previous (White Person !m2cp3rR5zw)
Indeed I did. So the bin had my name on it. Some person in like picking up something or returning something sees the box of plant food and says Oh I ordered that as well. Clerk was out to lunch who sold it but failed to notice my name was on the label

In a way I am lucky cause I have no business using the plant food currently - Wood over feed the plants and damage them. Nature works that way. Cosmos forces pushed me out of the way to save the new herbs I planted
