Yep. They are given Medicare and Medicaid through the ACA. I sat and helped someone sign up online, and that person is very poor, but got free health insurance. Thanks.

Very many people cannot get Medicare or Medicaid (both of which existed before Obamacare). I know someone who is on the disability waiting list, who hasn't worked in years, and the ACA doesn't do shit for them.

There are subsidies, tax credits, etc. for people within I think 350 percent of the poverty line. If someone is unable to work it won't be free but it should not be an astronomical amount for the bronze plan. It is kind of contextual though and I luckily didn't spend hours reading this law since it'll be gone soon anyway so I don't know exactly how it works.
