Topic: Can the turbo SJW lefties get any more retarded?
DasSheeple !pE87XcIVxw started this discussion 9 years ago#58,373
Look at this shit picture.
First I have a question:
Would you rather have a career pilot with 20k flight hours that has the intention of crashing the plane, or someone who has 0 experience but actually wants to land it safely?
Then there's one more issue. There are requirements for both, becoming a pilot, and becoming a president.
To become a pilot: > Aged over 18 years old to commence training > Completed Secondary School education achieving national qualifications in English Language, Mathematics and Science subjects > Proficient in the English language > Capable of holding a Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate > Successfully complete and pass the assessment process for your preferred training program
To become a president: > Aged over 35 > Born in the USA > Convince people to elect you
That's by law, created by career politicians. This tells us two things about career politicians:
1st - they are incompetent retards if they would make laws that enable someone incompetent to get elected as the president
2nd - they know how easy it is to run the USA, so it's no biggie
In both cases, there's no problem with Trump being elected and on top of that, in the first case, it's actually better Trump got elected.
The picture also nicely shows how retarded lefties became. They want to democratize the whole world and take down all totalitarian and oppressive regimes, but they cry like little babies when democracy doesn't end up yielding the results hey voted for. Fucking pathetic.
Can these retards get any crazier? The bar was set pretty damn high with this picture.

The picture I posted is used these days on social media to show how wrong it was to pick a businessman instead a career politician as the president. And it's retarded as fuck.

The pilot has basically absolute control over the plane. The President does not have anywhere near that level of control over the country.
A better analogy would be like the populist passenger wants to take over the plane, but the plane has like a shitload of safeguards and computerized autopilot systems that can't be overridden. And also if every change of course or altitude had to be approved by a committee of geriatric FAA rulemakers, and if the pilot tried to ignore that, then air traffic control would take remote control of the plane and land it.

I mean you start off with accusing people who think that an experienced politician should be preferred to perform the hardest political job on the planet as "sjw lefties" so you're not exactly presenting a great arugment. Particularly since that was the position of the Republican party when McCain was running vs inexperienced Obama, so clearly he is also a sjw as was everyone who voted for him, many of whom voted for Trump this time.
You don't know really anything about American politics but you are so sure of your beliefs that you talk like you do. It's really dumb and makes you look like a jackass.

I think there is something to that picture, if it's used as a commentary on the anti-intellectualist, anti-expert trends that are running strong in right-wing populism right now. As opposed to a criticism of Trump specifically who, although his lack of experience is causing a steady stream of gaffes, is still assisted by his more experienced colleagues and is not imbued with infinite power.
The Telegraph's parliamentary sketch writer wrote some similar satire to get this point across. It's a very worrying trend.

Don't you think it's interesting that three actors with no political experience (Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jesse Ventura) have become governors (with Reagan going on to be President), and nothing really bad happened?
I don't know what the UK equivalent of a state governor would be but I think it's interesting!

Not particularly. Like I said, these guys aren't just working on their own. They've got experienced teams backing them and other government bodies double-checking them, so their own lack of experience can be minimised (to some extent).
I'm talking more broadly. Like when Michael Gove says that the UK shouldn't listen to economists or experts in general, or when Trump declares his support for harsh torture methods despite experts saying they're of limited effectiveness. It's that sort of mentality that worries me. If we just ignore people scientists or economists because we don't want to hear what they're saying, then we're gonna mess up. Bad stuff's gonna happen.
I'm not sure what the UK equivalent to a US state governor is. Maybe a mayor or the local council? British MPs are more similar to your senators.

@OP > but they cry like little babies when democracy doesn't end up yielding the results hey voted for
Trump and lots of his supporters did this when they thought they were going to lose the election. They blasted the US election as rigged and told lies about how it was happening.
You yourself, when I last asked you, didn't actually voice agreement with Trump's conspiracy theory of election rigging. So are Trump and his supporters "little babies" too? They were ready to denounce the whole democratic process if it didn't go their way.
Maybe both wings have their fair share of extremists and bad apples? Crazy idea, I know.

It's not a crazy idea, I laughed at them as well. Trumps "if I lose, it's rigged" was hilarious. But for you, who apparently has dementia, the media parroted for over a month how the elections are bullet proof, and nothing can temper with them. But now, all of a sudden, all over the same media, 24/7 for the past weeks: "Russian hackers!!"
I laugh at both sides equally, but you only get butthurt when I laugh at the side you picked.

No, I accused the dude who drew it, who declares himself as a member of the left, to be, well, a sjw leftie, and asked "can they get any more retarded?" pointing at him and the ones like him.

You're making a big assumption about my viewpoint, here. For someone who has complained about being pigeonholed, you don't seem to have much issue doing it yourself.
It's not the same issue. Trump was lying about the election being rigged for Hillary, Russia really did exert influence. And, regardless of how big an influence it was, it is wrong for countries to covertly attempt to interfere with foreign democracies.
> I laugh at both sides equally
I never seem to see you mocking right-wing populism or its followers, so you'll have to forgive me if I'm sceptical about that.
