If you saw trees in a forest would you just decide that there must be 6 million and get upset when someone says it seems more like an estimate than an actual figure? Would asking questions about how that figure was reached and what method of estimation was used get you labeled as an antitreemitic and a forestry denier?
I can see the forest for the trees, and if the original number of trees was 14 million, but later downgraded to 6 million shouldn't reasonable people ask questions about errors in judgement and want to hear other opinions about how these numbers were settled on? Even if some people believe it was dense in one small area and area was used to estimate the entire forest, wouldn't you like to hear their opinion? It could be a million more or a million less. That's a lot of wood to be casual about.
