I pointed out in a reply yesterday or such that Christmas is celebrated On Dec 25th in some places and others using another calendar celebrate it this year on Jan 12. Those who are Eastern Orthodox and follow another calendar.
Yet this topic isNOT ABOUT CHRISTMAS.
Its about good cheer fun with friends or even people you just met. My first business trip to Russia was in the dead of winter and I was the only person from my company on that trip, so I new not another sole. Business contacts I had reasons to keep it strictly business.
I needed help buying a Guinness like Stout but Russian made - That story for some other topic - Asking for some simple help led to meeting a large family and later invited to dinner and then to join them and other friends for Christmas Russian Style - ME NOT ALLOWED to bring Gifts/Food/Wine/Vodka -other then a very minor toy for each child.
I once had a super GF who's fav holiday was Halloween - So it became a major event in my life and now that that Ex is just a good friend I still do lots of fun Halloween stuff with her. That means its about 10 days of Halloween.
Mardi Gras - Of course as a dancer and one who loves a good party - Street Fairs Fais do-do. Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras starts on Jan 6th and ends on Feb 28th this year. That is a lot of weeks of Celebrating - Fat Tuesday is like the Big Orgasm and the prior many days are major 4Play.
Coming up is Buddha's birthday Saturday, April 8. North of me and South of me people celebrate with special foods and music. The Buddhist Japanese eat meat and other Buddhists do not.
Most Greek Churches have a weekend Festival with food and music and Greek Dancing - This usually goes on all summer long as each church selects their own day to put on the Festival - I have 4 choices somewhat near by and Cardiff by the Sea has a super nice Greek Church - Just food n fun and friends and anyone can pick up the simple moves to dance Greek
Just be careful who you turn you back on.
So those of you who poo poo Celebrating Christmas?
Its a holiday an excuse to eat drink and do Mary if Mary is in the mood for being done or undone.
Christmas colored lights special foods - Music well yea that one can only take so much of. The religious part of Christmas? I do on occasions and often used to do Midnight Mass -
Midnight Mass in Dubbo Australia - DEC 25TH few years back was like 110 F inside the church. Dripping sweat we all were

I don't celebrate Hannukah, but it sounds funny and I think I would enjoy it if I did because it has a funny name.

I have no interest in Korea.
But god fucking damn it. Imagine what they could have been if half of their country hadn't been taken over by lunatics.

Ya all have a super Christmas Eve - Photo is because at Dec Nights even a girl started to do this and I had to ask her not to - I told her Mardi Gras beads u want u can have without pulling your top up - She was just 2 young and the crowd had to many kids at the event. But this is very very common during Mardi Gras
