Topic: Why does my computer shut itself off sometimes when I use it as a footrest?

Sometimes I'll put my feet up on it (I keep the desktop tower under my desk) and it'll make like a little "click" sound and then it's dead. I looked inside and the top of the case contacts the power supply when you press hard on it, so I wedged a piece of cardboard between the top of the power supply and the top of the case to insulate it but it still happens.
I mean the case is made of steel I should be able to put my feet up on a steel box for God's sake.

Squeeze the box on the sides adjacent to the motherboard. Treat the case as an Elephant where you are in search of the G Spot.
Flex motherboard and flex with a wooden kitchen tool the area around the power switch.
Flexing is the operative word for investigations.
