Topic: i went to ER and got three stitches today

ko started this discussion 9 years ago #57,819

i was packing down some TRASH and i basically karate chopped a broken, sharp piece of ceramic or something and it busted open my pinky finger. i bled a -lot-. then i got sewed up.
these are my first stitches
i kind of expected it to be more brutal but i think that's mostly because the first medical procedure i went thru was halfway finished before i was asked if i wanted to be anesthetized. i was just sitting there like 'wow this is a pretty painful procedure'
today the novacaine didn't work at forst and i almost let the dude sew me up without it oops but he made sure i was numb. he seemed distressed. i had to wait a very long time and i didn't mind but he said there was an emergency in the next room and i was like 'well im in the emergency room so it must be pretty bad' (i said 'i understand.') but he seemed troubled. like maybe even sad. it was unnerving. also why are the clerks at hospitals always assholes

also right now my finger feels very swollen and hot
that's all

3 stitches? Pretty sure that would just be a band-aid for a couple of days in most peoples lives...

We'll have a trash economy by 2070 and you can tell your grandkids you cut your pinky open trying to karate chop MONEY

A friend of mine once put my cheek back together using super glue and butterfly bandages while I was passed out drunk. Worked like a charm.

I was in a relationship with a surgical nurse and she told me its common to use super glue to fix all kinds of body issues. To verify this is still ok protocol I looked it up.

It is true with one minor difference. They make a Surgical Grade superglue - Just a different formula so it does not sting the skin on contact. External use only - A different glue is used for innards

Also it has useful anti bacterial properties
