By stuff, I mean "culture". Specifically, I am talking about the mainstream musical expression of culture as seen through the eyes of a baby boomer.
Though the bands, the culture and the boomers themselves grow and evolve through time, there is a type of music that crystallised that culture in that moment of time.
So for an example, I would choose maybe like Bon Jovi's song "livin' on a prayer"
The people who coined the term "dadrock" did so because of their memories of their fathers listening to that kind of music as they grew up. Thats why it's called that, not because it's music that any particular dad enjoys.
I would argue that the term "dadrock" is similar to the term "classic rock", except that seen through the paradigm of the millennial culture, it's just not relevant to their life experience any more.
If I can be of more help to clarify the phrase then please feel free to reply with what it is that you need from me. I'm probably being trolled.
