If you mean, why is she not calling an early general election to get her very own mandate, then it's because she doesn't need to. She's very secure, having a unified party, a floundering and divided opposition, and the widespread support of the British public.
Add to that, she's pledged to try and steer the country through Brexit by March next year. A general election before then would stall the smooth preparation for that, and one during Brexit would obviously be too disruptive also.

I think I'm leaning that way too. I agree with their second referendum idea (and their generally anti-Brexit stance). Meanwhile. the Tories are also losing me a bit. While I think that they're mostly competent and May is a good and modern leader, I'm put off by things like the grammar school debacle, the possible internet censorship and the general influence of the more regressive Tory MPs.
I think how I vote will very much be decided by the country's circumstances at the time, though.
